With over 15 years of medical device experience, Faisal has a proven track record of success in launching products from disruptive technologies to line extensions, developing unique commercialization strategies to ensure market leadership and building and leading high-performing teams.
Prior to joining Akura, Faisal led the global commercialization of ReCor’s system to treat hypertension via renal denervation. As an early member of that team, Faisal helped with ensuring successful clinical trial recruitment and played a key role in creating an effective podium and publication strategy. Prior to ReCor, Faisal managed the US endovascular portfolio for Cordis, leading the launch of market-leading closure devices and growing revenue for its access technologies. Faisal also led the launch of multiple stroke therapies at Stryker Neurovascular, working in both hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke to market stentrievers, coils and catheters in the US, EMEA and Japan.
He started his career at Abbott, where he served as the Global Product Manager for coronary therapies. As a result of these experiences, Faisal has a deep understanding of cardiovascular, endovascular, neurovascular and hypertension therapies. His strong background in strategy and product marketing, combined with his extensive experience in product development, has allowed him to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Design, and Clinical teams to successfully define product requirements and product enhancements.
Faisal holds a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
